Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 25, 2026
Stitch Path ("Stitch Path", "we", "us", or "our") provides a crochet companion app available on the web
and as a native app for iOS and Android. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use
it, and the choices you have. It applies to stitchpath.app and the Stitch Path mobile apps.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: your email address and, if you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information those providers share with us (name, email, profile photo). Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication.
- Profile information: your display name, avatar, and answers you give us about why you're using the app (for example, whether you're learning, unwinding, selling, or making gifts), used to personalize your experience.
- Your projects and patterns: patterns you save, import, or create, project notes, progress, row counts, and pricing/yarn calculations you enter into the app's tools.
- Community content: photos, titles, captions, comments, likes, and saves you post to the Community feed. Community photos and text are screened by an automated moderation system (see Section 4) before appearing publicly.
- Payment and subscription status: whether you have an active subscription and which plan. Payment card details are processed directly by Apple, Google, or Stripe — we never receive or store your full card number.
- Device and usage information: basic technical information (device type, app version, general usage patterns) and, if you enable them, push notification tokens.
2. How we use your information
- To create and maintain your account and keep your projects, patterns, and progress in sync across devices.
- To operate core features: pattern tools, the Challenge, Row Counter, and the Community feed.
- To personalize what you see (for example, tailoring suggestions based on why you told us you're using the app).
- To process and manage subscriptions and entitlements.
- To moderate content you post to the Community, so the space stays safe.
- To send you service-related communications and, if you opt in, product updates or marketing email.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
3. Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us run Stitch Path, each acting under their own privacy and security commitments:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and sign-in.
- Vercel — application hosting, database, and file storage (including Community photos).
- OpenAI — automated moderation of Community text and images before they're published.
- Apple, Google, and RevenueCat — processing native app subscriptions and purchases.
- Stripe — processing legacy web subscriptions (existing subscribers only).
- MailerLite — sending account and, where you've opted in, marketing email.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Stitch Path, our users, or others.
4. Community content and moderation
Photos, titles, captions, and comments you submit to the Community are checked by an automated system
before they become visible to other users. Content that's clearly unsafe is rejected automatically;
anything unclear is queued for human review. Other users can report content, and you can block other
accounts from your own view. We may remove content or restrict accounts that violate our content
guidelines.
5. Your choices and rights
- You can update your profile name, avatar, and preferences at any time from your account settings.
- You can request a copy of your data or delete your account and associated data from within the app's account settings, or by contacting us directly.
- You can turn push notifications on or off in your device settings.
- If you manage your subscription through Apple or Google, cancellations and refund requests for those purchases are handled through your Apple ID or Google Play account, per their respective policies.
6. Data retention
We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we
delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we're required
to retain it for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Children's privacy
Stitch Path is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us
and we'll remove it.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures — including encrypted connections and access controls — to protect
your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute
security.
9. International users
Stitch Path is available internationally. By using the app, you understand that your information may be
processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate, which may have
different data protection laws than your own country.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective
date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
